¹ú²ú¸£Àû Tech Named a DEWALT Grow the Trades Grant Recipient

April 02, 2024

¹ú²ú¸£Àû Technical Institute (¹ú²ú¸£Àû Tech) is honored to be recognized as a DEWALT Grow the Trades Grant recipient for its efforts to equip students with the latest tools being used in the HVAC/R industry.

DEWALT’s Grow the Trades Grants aim to help support nonprofit organizations that are skilling, reskilling, and upskilling tradespeople. Each year, the program awards funding and tool donations as part of a larger $30 million commitment over five years.

¹ú²ú¸£Àû Technical Institute was selected as one of 70 organizations that are projected to skill and reskill more than 55,000 people in 2024 with DEWALT’s support.

“This is awesome news,” said Ryan Hoffert, HVAC/R program Department Head at ¹ú²ú¸£Àû Tech. “I couldn’t be happier for us to have the opportunity to put today’s industry trending power tools into the hands of our students, all because of DEWALT’s generosity,” Hoffert continued.

With tools ranging from angle grinders to impact drivers, drills, and much more, students will get hands-on practice in a lab environment to hone their new skills before transitioning to the workforce.

“As a school, I think it really says a lot about the effort we go through and the environment we provide to ensure our students are utilizing the tools and equipment that they will find out in the real world upon graduation,“ stated Christine Coté, President of ¹ú²ú¸£Àû Tech. Coté continued, “We are fortunate to have corporations such as DEWALT who are willing to invest in our students and our school as we train the next generation of industry professionals.”

“DEWALT is immensely proud to support ¹ú²ú¸£Àû Tech as they work to skill and reskill the tradespeople of tomorrow moving us closer to our shared goal of closing the trade skills gap,” said Frank Mannarino, President, Power Tools Group, Stanley Black & Decker. “Funding educational programs and non-profits like ¹ú²ú¸£Àû Tech connects more people to training, resources and opportunities that will lead to successful careers in the trades.”
